Privacy policy

1. Who we are
The site amaanatouna.com is published by Amaanatouna, a company established at Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, commercial licence no. 2539813.01, the controller of your data. Contact: amaanatouna@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
When you create an account or place an order: first name, last name, email address, country and, if you provide them, postal address and phone number; your order and download history. When you pay: card details are entered with our payment provider (Stripe) and are never passed on to us. When you write to us through the contact form or by email: your name, email and message. When you browse: the technical data needed to run the site (IP address, browser type, pages visited, chosen language and currency), kept in server logs.
3. Why we use it
To process your order and deliver the ebook (performance of the contract); to manage your account, downloads and requests (performance of the contract); to meet our accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation); to keep the site secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interest); to ask for your review of an ebook you bought (legitimate interest, one message only, no follow-up if you do not reply). We do not sell your data and we do not send you advertising.
4. Who has access
Our host Hostinger (servers located in France); our payment provider (Stripe); our email provider for order emails; Google, for the advertising measurement described in section 7 only, and only if you have accepted it. These providers use your data only to deliver the service concerned. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside your country
Amaanatouna is established in the United Arab Emirates. If you live in the European Union, your data may therefore be processed outside the Union; we limit this processing to what your order and account require, and we apply appropriate safeguards with our providers.
6. How long we keep it
Account data: as long as the account exists, then deletion on request; order data and invoices: seven years, the legal retention period for accounting records applicable to Amaanatouna; contact messages: two years after the last exchange; technical logs: twelve months at most.
7. Cookies and advertising measurement
The site uses cookies needed for it to work: session, basket, account login, chosen language and currency, together with the technical cookies of our payment provider (Stripe), required for payment security. These cookies are not used to track or target you, and they cannot be declined without stopping the site from working.
The site also carries a Google Ads tag, supplied by Google Ireland Limited, whose only function is to tell us which adverts led to a purchase. It stays switched off until you accept it: on your first visit a banner asks for your choice, and no advertising cookie is set before you click “Accept”. Google’s script is loaded when the page opens, in “consent denied” mode: in that state it sets no cookie and sends no identifier, and Google only sees your IP address, as it would for any file loaded from a third-party server. If you accept, Google sets measurement cookies (click identifiers) for up to ninety days; these data may be processed outside the European Union, in particular in the United States, under the contractual safeguards provided by Google. If you decline, the tag stays inactive.
The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You can change your mind at any time:
Your choice is kept for six months in a cookie set by our own site. You can also delete all cookies in your browser settings; the basket and login will then stop working.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction, objection to its processing, and portability, by writing to amaanatouna@gmail.com; we reply within one month. If you live in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your country’s data protection authority.
9. Children
The site is intended for parents and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children; ebooks are bought and downloaded by an adult.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS; access is password-protected; payments are handled by a certified provider. No system is infallible: report any incident to amaanatouna@gmail.com.
11. Changes
This policy may change; the date at the top shows the latest version. In case of a significant change, we inform you by email if you have an account.
